Tea Party Patriots Rallies Grassroots Against Immigration Bill

On Monday, the group recommends Tea Partiers write blog posts, Facebook posts, and letters to the editor that incorporate its talking points to argue the bill’s process is “too rushed” and is being passed with a “lack of transparency” and “lack of accountability,” while setting aside the notions of “security first” and “fiscal responsibility.”

Immigration Bill to Bring in at Least 33 Million People

NumbersUSAThe pending Senate immigration bill would bring a minimum of 33 million people into the country during its first decade of operation, according to an analysis by NumbersUSA, a group that wants to slow the current immigration rate.

By 2024, the inflow would include an estimated 9.2 million illegal immigrants, plus 2.5 million illegals who arrived as children — dubbed ‘Dreamers’ — plus roughly 3.4 million company-sponsored employees with university degrees, said the unreleased analysis.

African-American leaders protest Senate’s immigration bill

The response came after Wade Henderson, who heads the D.C.-based Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, released an April 24 statement that denigrated the black leaders as unrepresentative and divisive.

GOP Senators Slam Immigration Bill for loopholes and waivers

“This bill gives you, the secretary, extraordinary discretion in making many decisions about how the [task] would be carried out … that causes me many concerns,” Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions told Napolitano.

Sen. Marco Rubio ‘kneecaps’ fellow conservatives

Marco Rubio, R-Fla., is running a campaign-style press operation to push an immigration overhaul, a fitting move for a politician who needs it to bolster a rumored 2016 presidential bid,” Roll Call reports this morning. “Rubio’s Senate office has adopted a rapid-response strategy similar to Obama for America’s vaunted 2012 tactics,” Roll Call continues.

Unfortunately, tactics are not the only thing Rubio is borrowing from the Obama campaign.
