Governor Chris Christie WTHGov. Chris Christie has nominated allies of two of the most prominent Democrats in the nation to the Rutgers Board of Governors.

Christie, a Republican, today announced that he’s nominated Susan McCue, a former chief of staff to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid who played a key role in helping New Jersey Democrats keep control of the Legislature in 2013.

Christie also tapped Mark Angelson, a professor at the Rutgers who worked as a deputy Chicago mayor under Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who previously was a congressman and chief of staff to President Obama.

Both McCue, a Virginia resident, and Angelson, a New York resident, are Rutgers grads.

Chrisite spokesman Michael Drewniak called the McCue and Angelson “well-recognized Rutgers graduates.”

“They also possess deep experience in public service, public policy and in business, all of which will serve the university well at this time of extraordinary growth and change,” Drewniak said.

I want to thank my friends in New Jersey who sent this article to me this morning. So Governor Chris Christie may not be a friend of the Republicans after all. Why is he putting Democrats into elected offices?
