Marco Rubio at CPAC: The “Idea” is Called “America”

Marco_RubioMarco Rubio added some much needed refreshment to what had thus far been a very dry morning (with the exception of Allen West) at CPAC. His speech checked off many conservative boxes and sounded not-unlike a campaign speech. The audience seemed to approve of the young politician, offering applause and laughter as he mocked his own “Water-gate”. Here are some of the notable quotes from Rubio’s speech. You can view the complete speech here as well.

  •  I ran (for senate) because I believe this country is extraordinarily exceptional.
  • Our widespread middle class separates us from the rest of the world.
  • Our principles still work.
  • There isn’t a tax increase in the world that can solve our debt problem.
  • Don’t underestimate the impact of the breakdown of the American family to our people.
  • Student loans are the next big financial bubble to burst.
  • We don’t need a new idea. There is an idea. The idea is called America. And it still works.

 U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL)
