Senator ridicules Obama for not signing amnesty order

jeff_sessions29WASHINGTON – Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., a leading opponent of President Obama’s move to provide amnesty for up to 5 million illegal immigrants, expressed astonishment Monday and ridiculed the administration for not carrying out the action through an executive order.

In remarks made at the Washington office of the government-watchdog group Judicial Watch, Sessions said: “I guess they just whispered in the ear of (DHS Director) Jeh Johnson over at Homeland Security, ‘Just put out a memo. That way we don’t have to enforce the law.’”

Rush doesn't waste words on nonsense he gets to the facts!Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh agrees with fellow conservative talk radio host and scholar Mark Levin that the pro-amnesty, pale-pastels wing of the Republican Party only serves up losers in presidential elections.

When asked on Fox News Sunday about Jeb Bush, Limbaugh said that Jeb Bush is reflective of a “Republican Party” that “is totally absorbed in this comprehensive immigration business, and Jeb is out there claiming the only way he can get nominations is somehow run against the base in the primaries.”

Netanyahu’s cabinet approves controversial bill enshrining Israel as ‘Jewish nation-state’

Netanyahu had asked the cabinet to support the harsher versions of the bill and to pass them in their preliminary Knesset reading this Wednesday. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet on Sunday approved a controversial bill toenshrine into Israeli law the status of Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people.

The bill that passed was a combination of two, one proposed by MKs Ayelet Shaked and Yariv Levin, and the other by MK Zeev Elkin. The bill, which include tough wording opposed by both Justice Minister Tzipi Livni and Yesh Atid ministers, will be incorporated into another version Netanyahu plans to present later this week.

The combination of the Democratic Party, business interests, and a GOP operative class yearning for its promise of improved standing with Hispanic voters means that you can never really count it out.

That said, it is hard to imagine Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) moving forward after yesterday’s closed-door showdown. According to estimates from those who were in the room–both in favor of moving forward and against–the dozens of GOP lawmakers who spoke were at least 80-20 against bringing a bill to the floor this year.
