 Fatima Noor has been appointed special assistant in the Office of the Director for U.S. CitizenshipThe University of Memphis’ Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) program graduate Fatima Noor has been appointed special assistant in the Office of the Director for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in the Department of Homeland Security.

She majored in psychology with minors in Spanish and international relations. She recently completed a month-long research fellowship in psychology hosted by Carnegie-Mellon and the University of Pittsburgh; her research will be ongoing for this program. Noor was a leader in many honor societies at the U of M. She has done volunteer work with World Relief Memphis and the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition.

President Obama said he is determined to “make things better” between police and communities following a meeting with Ferguson officials, activists and civil rights leaders on Monday.

Govt Report Says Congress Can ‘Defund’ Amnesty

We must make DC listen!A week ago, House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers declared that Congress would not be able to defund government spending as a way to circumvent President Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration because the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is self-funded through fees collected on immigration applications.

But Rogers was wrong, according to Breitbart News, which reports that the Congressional Research Service — a nonpartisan branch of the Library of Congress that provides public policy research — concluded that Congress has the authority to block the funding needed to implement the executive order, which grants de facto amnesty to some five million illegal immigrants.
